June

The

the former Mohasco Mills
industrial site is scheduled for
Saturday, June 10, at 9:00am.
The six story, 110,000 square
foot concrete structure will be

smokestack.

health and safety of the
surrounding neighborhoods is the
top priority of both the City
and Bianchi. To assure the
safety of the area, persons will
not be permitted within a 500

The
Mohasco Mills environmental
restoration is being funded by a
State Assistance Brownfields
Grant provided under NYSDEC’s
Environmental Restoration
Program, and the City of
Amsterdam. The Environmental
Restoration Program provides
funding to municipalities to
clean up and redevelop abandoned
and underused urban properties
where former industrial
operations may have resulted in
environmental contamination and
blight. Final site remediation
and restoration will create
several acres of public access
green space along the North
Chuctanunga Creek in this mixed
residential and industrial
neighborhood.
